Help & FAQ

Getting Started

What is Socrati?

Socrati is an AI-powered learning companion that turns your own materials into interactive courses. Upload lecture slides, textbook PDFs, handwritten notes, or YouTube videos and Socrati creates bite-sized lessons, flashcards, multiple choice questions, matching exercises, and fill-in-the-blank exercises — ready in seconds.

How do I create a course?

  1. Go to the Create tab and tap New Course
  2. Enter a topic, or skip straight to adding materials
  3. Optionally add a source: upload a PDF, take a photo of your notes, or paste a YouTube link
  4. Pick your depth level (Quick, Standard, or Deep Dive / Drill for Pro users)
  5. Tap Generate Outline, review it, then Create Course — your course will be ready in under a minute

What file formats are supported?

Socrati accepts PDF documents, images (photos of handwritten or printed notes), and YouTube video links. You can also type a topic directly if you don't have a file to upload.

Courses & Lessons

How long are lessons?

Each lesson is designed to take 5–10 minutes. Swipe through screens of content at your own pace, then test yourself with exercises at the end.

Can I edit or delete a course?

Yes. Open the course, tap the menu icon, and choose Delete Course. Course editing is not currently supported, but you can always create a new course from updated materials.

What are “Deep Dive” and “Drill” modes?

Both are Pro features. Deep Dive generates longer, more detailed courses — great for exam prep when you need thorough coverage. Drill mode creates rapid-fire exercise sets from your material, perfect for active recall practice.

Audio Lectures

How do audio lectures work?

Audio lectures are a Pro feature that turns any lesson into a podcast-style narration. Tap the headphone icon on a lesson to generate the audio, then listen while you commute, work out, or cook.

Can I download audio for offline listening?

Yes. Each audio lesson has a download button, and you can also tap Download All on a course to save every lesson at once. Downloaded audio is available offline and can be managed in your Profile under Downloaded Audio.

Practice & Spaced Repetition

How does spaced repetition work?

Socrati tracks how well you answer each exercise. Questions you get wrong come back sooner; ones you nail move to longer intervals. Over time, this helps you retain information without cramming.

Where do I find my reviews?

Go to the Practice tab. It shows how many reviews are due for each course. Tap a course to start reviewing.

AI Tutor

What is the AI Tutor?

The AI Tutor is a chat assistant that can answer questions about your courses, explain concepts, quiz you on recent lessons, or summarize what you've learned. Free users get 3 messages per day; Pro users get 100.

What does Pro add?
